Most of my stuff is done with a plunge router with a pattern bit and template. I trace the template onto the wood and clean most of it out using a drill press and forstner bit. I reattach the pattern and finish clearing using the router and bit. Final shapes are then cut out using either the scroll saw or band saw. I then use a series of sanders (1" belt, 6" disk, 2" bowl and 5" palm) to smooth out the final product.
